The State of Florida uses a point system to monitor driving violations. Receiving a traffic ticket in Florida will result in three or more points being added to your driving record. Most drivers are able to attend a driver safety course to get the ticket dismissed and keep the points off the driving record. The course is known as the Florida Basic Driver Improvement course. There are many driver improvement course providers with class rooms located throughout the state. There are only a few companies offering the driver safety course online.
Not all drivers are eligible to take the Basic Driver Improvement course. When you pay for your ticket online you will find out if you are eligible to take the driver improvement course and, if so, let the court know you want to take advantage of the driver safety course. Then, select one of the course providers listed above and take the 4 hour basic driver improvement course.
The court requires
you to complete the course within a specified time period so make sure that you
sign up with one of the above Florida Basic Driver Improvement course providers
right away.
